Want to Become the Purr-fect Foster Pet Parent?
FOSTER PARENTS ARE NEEDED ASAP!!!
Becoming a cat foster parent means that you will care for a senior kitty in your home for anywhere from a single night to several weeks depending on when the kitty finds a forever home living with a loving senior. Some fosters may prefer to foster a kitty that is a Therapy Cat for cancer patients. Volunteers can put their name on the “on call” list. Volunteers can say no if they cannot accept a cat into their home at any given time.
To become a volunteer sign up with Marlene by calling (512) 981-7241. Volunteers are not expected to supply cat food, cat box or litter etc. for their fosters. If cat food, litter, or anything else is needed you will notify Marlene.
Austin Holistic Therapy Cat Rescue will pay for rabies vaccinations at scheduled clinics on our calendar or in our newsletter. You will only need to have the bill put in our name and submit the bill with your foster cats name on it to receive reimbursement.
Foster cats must be kept inside at all times to be safe. If you have other cats, foster cats must be separated for fourteen days to keep all animals disease free because they may have previously been exposed to a virus or have an as-yet undiagnosed intestinal parasite. Your animal may not want to share its surroundings.
The more time you spend cuddling your foster kitties the more comfortable they will be with people. |
