Austin Holistic Therapy Cat Rescue's Mission

Austin Holistic Therapy Cat Rescue’s mission is through our volunteer program “Adult Cats 4 Seniors and Cancer Patients” which will make a direct difference in the lives of adult cats as well as the seniors and cancer patients that love them. We will find loving homes for adult cats that are no longer wanted by their previous owners and to keep them from being dropped off at Town Lake Animal Center and other animal holding groups to possibly be  euthanized. We don’t euthanize our adult cats. Instead we look for the loving solution of a senior enjoying happy years with their kitty or a cancer patient that wants love as much as the kitties do. We care for our cats until they find a forever home to live the rest of their lives in while loving their own human who loves them back.

Austin Holistic Therapy Cat Rescue is a non-profit

501(c) 3 organization through Austin Mind-Body-Spirit Research where a

study of matching senior therapy cats with cancer patients

is being conducted by Dr. Marlene G. Winacott; President

and Holistic Doctor of Austin Mind-Body-Spirit Research specializing in Cancer.

Adult Cats 4 Seniors and Cancer Patients has a commitment to adult cats; as well as to cancer patients and seniors sixty years and older.

Cats are wonderful no matter how old they are, however, kittens and young cats in reality climb, run, jump, get under foot causing falls etc. You may prefer being a cat parent to an adult kitty that loves to curl up in your lap or next to you for his/her afternoon nap, gently giving you the kisses and loving head butts that you deserve for caring for all their kitty needs. The needs of an adult kitty as well as your own needs may be a perfect match through our adult cat rescue. Adult cats don’t need to eat as much food each day as a kitten does so their food cost is a bit less. Litter box training is a lesson in the past and is now a habit. Active seniors are great companions for adult cats because the cat will enjoy naps in the sunshine while you continue with your active life attending activities, visiting friends, vacationing, working or volunteering at your favorite organization. A cat will happily eat his dry food while you are gone and welcome you back with kitty kisses and a meow or two or three.
